Safe & Structured Boarding You Can Trust

Clean, climate-controlled spaces, structured routines, and attentive care.

Boarding With Elite Dogs

Your dog deserves more than just a place to stay. At Elite Dogs, we provide professional dog boarding in West Sacramento, serving clients throughout the Sacramento area. Our clean, structured, and climate-controlled facility is designed for comfort, safety, and daily activity.

Our kennel building features spacious five-by-twenty-foot indoor and outdoor runs, allowing dogs to move freely between indoor and outdoor areas as they choose. The facility is fully heated and air-conditioned for year-round comfort. For dogs who prefer a quieter environment, we also offer indoor-only kennels.

Dogs in our care enjoy multiple exercise sessions each day. In addition to standard daily exercise, we offer “Beach Play” in our large play area with a heated pool as an optional add-on, available upon request. Whether your dog is active and social or more relaxed and routine-driven, we tailor their stay to fit their needs.

We are committed to providing a safe, engaging, and comfortable experience, making our facility your dog’s home away from home.

Dogs in our care are let out to exercise several times daily, helping them stay active, relaxed, and comfortable throughout their stay. Our team closely monitors each dog to ensure they are safe, engaged, and receiving the attention they need.

We ask that clients bring their own dog’s food and pack enough for the entire stay. Dogs may eat more than usual due to increased activity. Food should be brought in a bag only. We do not accept storage containers or scoops, and food does not need to be pre-portioned.

You are welcome to bring treats, but for safety reasons, we do not allow rawhide. You may also bring one or two durable kennel-safe toys such as a Kong or similar item.

We are happy to administer medications during your dog’s stay. Please bring any required medications, including Heartgard, Program, Advantage, or prescribed treatments. All medications must remain in their original containers and should not be separated into daily pill organizers or plastic bags.

Boarding Rates

Our dog boarding rates are designed to be simple, transparent, and affordable for Sacramento dog owners.

  • Only dogs that live together may share a kennel
  • Boarding is charged by the night, similar to a hotel stay
  • Pick up before 12:00 pm on the final day avoids an additional day charge
  • Baths and nail trimming are available during your dog’s stay. Please inquire at the front desk.
One Rate. No Surprises.

Some places charge extra for everything—big dogs, small dogs, medications, special handling… it adds up fast. We don’t do that. One rate, consistent care, and no surprises. Every dog gets the attention they need without the extra fees for boarding.

Health & Safety Requirements

Required Vaccinations

All dogs must provide proof of current vaccinations at least 3 days prior to boarding:

  • DHLPP (Distemper Combination)
  • Bordetella
  • Rabies
General Health Requirements

Dogs arriving with fleas and/or ticks will be bathed, and the cost of treatment will be applied. In cases of severe infestation, dogs may be sent home or required to receive veterinary treatment before returning. If fleas or ticks are found, a bath will be provided for your dog’s comfort. Bathing fees range from $25 to $45 depending on size and coat. Dogs in heat, suspected of being pregnant, or showing signs of illness should not be boarded.

Recent Exposure Guidelines

Bordetella, commonly known as kennel cough, is highly contagious and can be contracted in everyday environments such as dog parks, walking paths, kennels, and even at home. If your dog may have been exposed to illness within the past 14 days, please wait before boarding to help protect all dogs in our care.

Newly Adopted Dogs

Dogs that have recently been in a shelter or rescue environment must be in their new home for at least 21 days before boarding.

What to Bring

  • Your dog’s food for the entire stay (bring extra)
Dogs often burn more energy while boarding due to increased activity, so appetites may increase.
  • Food in a bag only
We put your labeled bags into our secured storage bins. Please do not bring a food bin.
  • Any medications your dog requires, in original labeled containers
This helps us ensure proper dosing and safe administration.
  • Optional treats, extras, or supplements
Please only bring items your dog is already familiar with consuming.
  • One or two durable, kennel-safe toys (Kong or similar recommended)
Familiar items can help reduce stress, but we recommend keeping it simple.
  • Any important care instructions
Let us know anything specific about your dog’s routine, behavior, or preferences.
What Not to Bring

Please do not bring rawhide, as it can be unsafe without direct supervision. We also ask that you avoid bringing food in containers, loose scoops, or pre-portioned bags. Bedding, large items, or excessive toys are not necessary and may not be used during your dog’s stay.
